How to be Focused

Staying focused can help you accomplish almost anything, from studying for a test to finishing your work an hour early.

1. Get Sufficient Undisturbed Rest Suggested duration 7-8 hours

Cut off any electronic devices usage 30 minutes before sleep. That means your phone & computers!

The reason of it is to allow Melatonin to set in. Melatonin is a hormone that helps control your sleep and wake cycles.

TO NOTE: You have to be disciplined and sleep on time, it will be difficult and you may be rolling around on the bed.

An end to a good day starts the next day fresh.

If you are more ambitious, you can perform the gratitude exercise during the pre-sleep period. Pick and Feel grateful about the 3 things that happened to you. There's no need for be big things.

It could be being grateful that you managed to get to work on time, or being thankful for the presence of your loved ones.

Or even simply thankful that you have eyes to be reading and taking in the colors of life!

The key is to be grateful for what you have now. It will set you in a good state :)

2. Set your Morning Routine

Suggested duration - As much as you need (mine is 2 hours)

You know about the quote - you woke up on the wrong side of the bed? It happens when you don't prime yourself, you let your environment control your state.

To be focused, you need to set your morning right through a routine, to get you into the positive state of mind every single day.

When you rise,

1. BE grateful for 3 things. It could be the fresh air that you're breathing, functioning legs to bring you to the toilet to brush your teeth.

2. Visualize your goal happening. Feel it, See it, Hear it. Taste it, Smell it. Exaggerate it. Watch yourself accomplishing it in a 1st person view.

3. Map out your day going according to your schedule - Visualize every plan for the day going very smoothly.

This will 'prime' your day and set you in a positive and focused state.

3. Be conscious of your Diet

Make the first food that enters your system an apple.

4. During Action - Work/Study

Plan for 45 Minutes work, 15 Minutes break This is to ensure Optimal performance.

Commit to the task at hand and Do not allow yoruself to be distracted within the 45 minutes. If it's not possible at all due to unforeseen circumstances, work with notion of focused bursts.

Everytime you feel like drifting off, pull yourself back to the task.

P.S The 15 Minutes Break isn't meant for you to use Facebook. It is for you to take a walk, visit the toilet or stretch yourself.

5. Develop and Act on your Exercise Plan

Imagine a car that you keep driving without undergo maintenance.

Do you think the vehicle will be able to perform at it's peak?

Likewise, our bodies are a system that runs on fuel (Diet) and maintenance (Exercise).

Be healthy and fit for your mind to be focused.

Commit to doing simple Daily exercise to get your blood going.

I personally do light 1 set of push-ups to assist my wake up process.

And also 80 push-ups and 80 crunches daily. It's nothing to be proud of, but by getting my

You can Enter a personal goal, set your morning alarm and wake up every day with a new message from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Note: The message sometimes gets rinsed and repeated.

2. Ignore all your tired voices in your head and STAND UP to Stretch your body!

Find a way to break your tired, waking up state and you'll be good to go!

It was extremely difficult for me to wake up earlier than usual, but the perks of waking up early to perform my morning routine has allowed me to be more focused at work & helps me to have more clarity.

Try it for yourself! I urge you to do it for 30 days for the habit to lock in.

If you fail for the first few days, it is okay. Don't beat yourself up. Stand up and brush it off.

Focus on your result and progress, Remember to Enjoy the process.

The key is to focus on improving daily.
